IT STARTED WITH WANTING TO GO TO JAPAN.
not for any specific reason. it just always pulled at us.
SO WE STARTED DIGGING INTO IT. the culture, the fashion, the art. just exploring with no real destination.
and somewhere down that rabbit hole we came across this art style. OLD JAPANESE BRUSHWORK. really flowy, cursive linework. the kind that looks effortless but carries so much feeling behind it.
we couldn't stop looking at it.
THERE WAS SOMETHING ABOUT IT THAT FELT LIKE EXACTLY WHAT WE NEEDED TO SAY. because right now the world is loud. everything moves fast, faster than it ever has, and a lot of people get lost in that.
but that art? it wasn't lost. IT WAS STILL. it knew exactly what it was.
THAT'S WHERE SOLACE CAME FROM. that feeling of finding yourself again in the middle of all the noise.
we built the whole collection around it. flew all the way out to chicago for the shoot. PUT MORE HEART INTO THIS THAN ANYTHING WE'VE MADE BEFORE.
